A comforting casserole that recreates the classic Big Mac flavors with layers of seasoned ground beef, tangy pickles, creamy sauce, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup hamburger dill pickles, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons mustard
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Season the beef mixture with salt and black pepper. Stir in the chopped pickles, then remove from heat.
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and mustard. Mix until smooth and creamy, then fold into the beef mixture.
In a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
Sprinkle one cup of grated cheddar cheese over the beef mixture. Layer the frozen tater tots on top, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Top the tater tots with the remaining cup of cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
