This recipe for easy cinnamon sugar pecans is a family favorite that I stumbled upon during a chilly Thanksgiving many years ago. My grandmother would always have a bowl of these sweet morsels on the coffee table, and I remember sneaking a handful every time I walked by.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups Pecans
1 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, water, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is well combined and begins to simmer.
Add the pecans to the saucepan, stirring to coat them evenly with the syrup. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until the pecans are well coated and the syrup thickens slightly.
Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and fragrant.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on the baking sheet. As they cool, they will harden and become crunchy.
