Ingredients
Scale:
- 2 pounds Russet potatoes
- 2 cups Heavy cream
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then slice them thinly (about 1/8-inch thick).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, adding thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter. Layer half of the potato slices at the bottom, slightly overlapping them.
- Pour half of the creamy sauce over the first layer of potatoes, then sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over it.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 with the remaining potato slices, sauce, and cheeses, finishing with a generous layer of cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
