Imagine coming home after a long day to the mouthwatering aroma of tender beef simmering in a savory teriyaki sauce. That's the magic of Crockpot Teriyaki Steaks! Not only is this dish easy to prepare, but it also brings the delightful flavors of Asian cuisine right to your dinner table.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free option)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 pounds flank steak or sirloin steak, trimmed of excess fat
Steamed broccoli or stir-fried vegetables (optional topping)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
Place the flank steak in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it's well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight.
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and sear it in the hot skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Place the marinated (and browned, if preferred) steak into the slow cooker. Pour the remaining marinade over the top.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
Once cooked, remove the steak from the crockpot and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing against the grain.
