Ingredients
Scale:
4 Large onions
8 slices Bacon
1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
4 oz. Cream cheese
1 tsp. Garlic powder
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Black pepper
2 tbsp. Olive oil
Instructions
Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
Peel the outer layers of the large onions, then carefully slice off the top and bottom. Hollow out the center of each onion, leaving about ¼ inch of onion all around to create a shell. Use a spoon or a melon baller for best results.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove from the skillet and let it cool before chopping it into small pieces.
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
Stuff each hollowed-out onion with the bacon and cheese mixture, packing it down gently. Fill each onion until it is heaped with the filling.
Brush each st■ onion with olive oil and wrap them individually in aluminum foil to prevent burning on the grill.
Place the wrapped onions on the grill and cook for about 30-40 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is melted. Check occasionally to ensure they are cooking evenly.
Carefully remove the onions from the grill, unwrap them, and let them sit for a few minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the cheese to set slightly.
