A simple yet flavorful pasta dish featuring olive oil, garlic, and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Scale:
8 ounces Spaghetti or linguine
1/4 cup Extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon Lemon zest
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package directions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta cooks, heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
If using, add red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for an additional 30 seconds to release their flavor.
Drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the garlic and olive oil sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
Add reserved pasta water a little at a time, tossing until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
Stir in the chopped parsley, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss everything together until well combined.
Serve immediately, garnishing with additional parsley and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
