Cheesy and flavorful rolls filled with mozzarella and homemade pesto.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) Active dry yeast
- 1 cup (100°F) Warm water
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Homemade pesto
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually. Mix until the dough forms a ball.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
- Spread the homemade pesto evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top.
- Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
