  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the sliced flank steak to the hot pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil and toss in the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds.
