Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the homemade apple butter until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. While the cupcakes cool, prepare the cinnamon frosting by beating the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Add the milk to reach your desired frosting consistency.
  10. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them generously with the cinnamon frosting using a piping bag or a knife.
