This dish promises a delightful marriage of flavors and textures, with creamy cheese enveloping tender pasta, sweetcorn adding a pop of sweetness, and tuna offering a savory depth.
Ingredients
Scale:
Pasta (any shape) - 8 ounces
Canned tuna (drained) - 1 can (about 5-6 ounces)
Sweetcorn (canned or frozen) - 1 cup
Cheddar cheese (shredded) - 1 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Butter - 2 tablespoons
Salt - to taste
Pepper - to taste
Italian seasoning (optional) - 1 teaspoon
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. If desired, add the Italian seasoning for additional flavor.
Once the pasta is done, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
Add the melted butter to the pasta, along with the milk and reserved pasta water. Mix well to combine.
Add the drained tuna and sweetcorn to the pasta mixture, stirring gently to combine everything evenly.
Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy, adjusting the consistency with more milk or reserved pasta water if necessary. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Let it cook on low heat for about 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through. Serve hot, garnishing with extra cheese or herbs if desired.
