When it comes to comfort food, few dishes evoke the same warmth and satisfaction as slow cooker baby back ribs. Imagine tender, juicy ribs that practically fall off the bone, coated in your favorite BBQ sauce. This recipe transforms an ordinary cut of meat into an extraordinary feast with minimal effort.
Ingredients
Scale:
3-4 pounds baby back ribs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
2 cups BBQ sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder. Rub this mixture all over the ribs.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned (optional).
Place the ribs upright in the slow cooker, curling them if necessary to fit.
In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour half of this mixture over the ribs.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for 6-8 hours or until the ribs are tender.
About 30 minutes before serving, brush the remaining BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs and cook uncovered for the last half hour.
Carefully transfer the ribs to a cutting board. Cut between the bones and serve hot with your favorite sides.
